🧸 Toy Hell: The Curse of Victory

You survived. You fought. You won. But in this place, victory is not freedom.

Toy Hell is a game developed for the GMTK Game Jam 2025, centered around a haunting cycle of power and punishment. You play as a lone challenger who defeats the monstrous ruler of a cursed realm—only to discover that triumph seals your fate. The cycle begins anew. The curse passes on.

Created solo for the GMTK Game Jam 2025, under the theme “Loop.” The game explores narrative and mechanical repetition—both as a design choice and as a metaphor for entrapment.

The cycle doesn’t end. It only waits for the next player.

Great job finishing this jam!!! It's not easy to make a full proof of concept. One thing I'd be excited for this game is potentially finding ways to use Soul Mode as a tool in combat as well: when I first played through the game, I had expected to be able to teleport to where I ended Soul Mode.
I would also consider some contrast on the lighting so that it's easier to see the geometry of each level.
